Overview

Sapa is a famous destination of the north Vietnam, there are a lot of mountain include famous Fansipan (the top mountain of Indochina with top 3143m), super majestic view landscape and beautiful culture of ethnic minority people.

Tourist people will have opportunity to visit Fansipan peak or make a trip to small villages hidden in the mist.

When to go to Sapa

Sapa has an invaluable treasure that is cool fresh climate, with a variety of nuances. With an average elevation of 1.500m ~ 1.800m Sapa have temperature of 15°C ~ 18°C. In the end of the year, in winter time, the temperature can fall down to 0°C. Tourist people should bring jacket and warm clothe when come to Sapa all the time, because in the morning time and night time it will feel cold.

  • The best time to go Sapa is from September to November. The rice fields turn to yellow and the temperature is nice, sun when you trekking and when you stop to rest it feel super cooling.
  • December to February, it is very cold and may have snow. Many people go to visit and try BBQ food on the cold whether.

Hanoi Sapa distance and transportation

Hanoi Sapa distance about 367km and usually take 6 hours to transfer between.

From Hanoi to Sapa town we have a lot of transfer service of go by motorbike (have to prepare good motor and it not easy and safe for new guys). For transfer service you can choose the services are: sleep bus, limousine van, private cabin bus, private car or overnight train.

  • Sleep bus: the most choice for budget tourist people, price from $10
  • Limousine van: more spacious seats, transfer with small group, from $19
  • Private cabin: more better and private bed-seats, 20 people on a bus only, from $20
  • Overnight train: most relaxing way to go to Sapa, from $28

Attractions

1. Ham Rong mountain

Ham Rong mountain is near the town you can walk to this attraction and clim to top of mountain to see the panoramic view of Sapa town. In the Ham Rong mountain you can found many flower and old rare trees

2. Cat Cat village

Cat Cat is traditional Mong people’s village. The traditional of handcrafts tool and clothings still available and wearing.

3. Sapa Stone Church

The church is old one builded in 1985 left by French, still work and open at the weekend for Christian.

4. Sin Chai village

Sin Chai village far 4km from Sapa town, it is the one of village not effect by “tourism” so it still original wild. This is a Black Hmong village with the population about 1400 people.

5. Ta Van village

Ta Van village far away from Sapa town 8km, the road to go there is small, narrow and dirt. The village of Giay people, you can learn more about their life style and culture, they are very welcome and speak English good. This is best attraction for trekking, you can see the view of rice field on two side of the road and the famous Muong Hoa valley.

6. Ta Phin village

Here is the village for Red Dao people, they usually have red hat for woman. They still living in the wooden house and keep originally culture. On the way arrival to the village you can visit Ta Phin cave.

7. Fansipan moutain – roof-top of Indochina

The top mountain of Indochina, you can choice the go the peak by cable car or climb by your self with tour guide.

8. Bac Ha market

Bac Ha is the large trading market of ethnic people. It far away from Sapa, and better to visit when you leave Sapa to Hanoi, after Bac Ha go direct to Hanoi. Ethnic people will go here to sell and buy a lot of things and life item.
